Music Boosters Meeting on Wednesday!Wednesday, August 13 at 7:00 in the IHS library Greetings, Music Booster friends and families! Our next meeting will be held on Wednesday, August 13 at 7:00 in the IHS library. Please review the minutes from the July meeting and the agenda for the meeting. Links to both can be found above. As you will see, we are now gearing up for Football season and the Vocal Ensemble's first performance for the Kiwanis Club in mid-September. Volunteer help is needed during the school day the week of August 25 from 10:30 am until 1:00 pm to fit Vocal Ensemble for uniforms. No sewing experience is necessary to help with fittings. Please call Barb Mowrer if you can help at 216-328-8931. If you have a Vocal student, please be sure that Men have black dress shoes and dress socks for their uniform. Ladies need black character shoes and Leggs Silken Mist Black Mist hosiery for their uniform. Character shoes may be purchased online or at Janita's in Parma Heights. A $30 price point shoe will suffice. If you have questions, please call Marcia at 216-392-8339. As an additional reminder, you can find "Uniform Care and Cleaning" instructions here and on the website for Vocal Ensemble, Wind Ensemble, and Marching Band uniforms. I hope you will all join us on Sunday, August 24 at 5:00 pm as we celebrate the grand opening of Alumni Field. (See article below) It will be the beginning of a very exciting time in the Independence School District. In order to assist you with any questions you may have about any events that occur throughout the year, the following members are available to answer questions: Enrichment is part of the Music Booster's MissionThe ongoing mission of the music boosters is to foster and encourage student development in the musical arts. Throughout the year the music boosters raise money to provide funds used to purchase instruments, equipment and uniforms. Booster volunteers provide hospitality for both the IHS and visiting bands at football halftime, and also assist with set design/construction and costume design/creation for the madrigal and drama productions. The Music Boosters also offer a musical enrichment grant for eligible students.
